"Money talks."

Gus and Tracy, two colleagues, are talking about another
co-worker, Tom, who is leaving the company. He has been
offered the same job at a competitor, but for more money.

Tracy: Have you heard?

Gus: What?

Tracy: Tom is quitting.

Gus: Why? What happened? Have you talked to him?

Tracy: Yeah, I talked to him yesterday.
He starts next month at AGL.

Gus: And why?

Tracy: Well, I heard AGL offered him a lot more money and
Mr Brown won't match it. So, he is going.

Gus: Money talks.

Tracy: You're right! It sure does!

"Money talks" means money is powerful and influential.
